The key to your next successful construction project

Strongbox - a stoutly made box or safe in which valuables are deposited.

Welcome to the new Hancock STRONGBOXsm solution for constructing homes with basements. Hancock Building and Design is now offering to contract with customers to take the project from cleared lot to the dry-in stage. Whether you are a builder or a homeowner taking responsibility for the general contracting, we offer you distinct advantages in the construction of your next home.

While basement homes are becoming much more popular in Oklahoma, the number of subcontractors (framers, HVAC, plumbers) with experience in constructing basement homes is very limited. Just like any job, repetition leads to perfection. But with basement homes representing less than 1% of all new homes in the metro Oklahoma City area, they don’t generate enough revenue for a firm to specialize in becoming the best provider in their category. And even though the subcontractor has worked on a basement home, they may not send out an experienced crew to your job site.

Basement homes present a different set of challenges during construction and there are many local builders capable of addressing them. What the Hancock STRONGBOXsm provides is the ability for anyone (experienced or not) to build a structurally sound and environmentally friendly basement home.

Why use the STRONGBOXsm? Without it you may not know until you load the house with all your possessions that the structural support of the framing was done right. Or it might take a season before you realize the air circulation is not working correctly or that humidity levels in the basement are too high due to poor conditioning of the air. Patching cracks in walls or mortar or caulking around doors, windows and cabinets may be the least of your worries.

With the proper engineering and execution, you can have confidence that your new home will meet your expectations and provide you with many years of solid performance.
